Recap of ‘Stitchers’ 2x02 “Hack Me If You Can”: Hacker Tries to Murder Linus

The Stitchers team investigates the suspicious death of a hacker in Stitchers episode 2x02 “Hack Me If You Can”. Meanwhile, Cameron’s near death experience causes everyone to act differently. Cameron has a bit of a midlife crisis and Linus decides it is time to move out of his parents’ house.

Linus meant what he said to Camille about growing up. He moved out of his parents’ house and into a cool smart apartment. He can use the app to turn on any appliance.

Linus’s parents show up to check out the new apartment. Camille is genuinely happy to see them. Linus’s parents still like Camille, but they aren’t happy with Linus. Linus’s dad thinks Linus is abandoning them by moving out. Linus’s mom is disappointed to hear that Linus and Camille will not be living together.

Kirsten talks to Cameron about her dad. She just found out that Ed Clark’s house, which she inherited after Ed died, was actually her parent’s house. Kirsten is determined to find her father. She wants to know what her father meant when he talked to Leslie Turner about “moving an asset”.

‘Stitchers’ 2x02 WonderCon Sneak Peek: Kirsten Investigates Hacker’s Death

The Stitchers team investigates the suspicious death of a hacker in this sneak peek of Stitchers episode 2x02 “Hack Me If You Can”.

The team looks into the death of Derek, a 28-year-old hacker who used to be third on the FBI’s Most Wanted hacker list. The FBI caught him posting internal memos from one of the big five oil companies. The FBI offered him a deal and Derek turned white hat. His job was to prevent cyber terrorists from breaching government systems.

Derek was hit by a car in Downtown Los Angeles. He looked disoriented before he walked into traffic.

Kirsten stitches into Derek’s memories. She sees a woman threaten to kill him. And right before Derek’s death, he received an email that said “5 million sent. Destroy the list”. The email was sent by a website where married people go to have affairs.

Before bouncing out of the memory, Kirsten realizes that Derek’s insulin pump is the cause of his death.

Kirsten obsesses over her new memories of her father in this sneak peek of Stitchers 2x02.

Turns out Ed Clark’s house, which she inherited after Ed died, was actually her parent’s house. 

Kirsten wants to know what her father meant when he talked to Leslie Turner about “moving an asset”. Cameron is too busy looking at motorcycles, but Kirsten isn’t quitting until she finds her father.

Cameron decides to take the plunge and buy the motorcycle. Before leaving, he does his best Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator impression.

'Stitchers' 2x02 WonderCon Sneak Peek: Linus Shows Camille his New Apartment

Linus shows Camille his new tricked out apartment in this sneak peek video of Stitchers episode 2x02 titled “Hack Me If You Can”.

While Linus is showing Camille all the smart appliances in his new apartment, Linus’s parents stop by. Camille is happy to see them (In Stitchers episode 1x09 “Future Tense”, Camille was touched by how loving Linus’s parents were. Camille’s parents abandoned her when she was sixteen, so she isn’t used to being part of a family).

Linus’s parents are struggling to accept Linus living on his own. Linus’s dad thinks Linus is abandoning them. Linus’s mom wants to know if Linus and Camille are going to be living together.

Here’s the synopsis for Stitchers episode 2x02 “Hack Me If You Can”:

"Kirsten meets her match in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, on an all-new episode of Stitchers.

When a black hat hacker dies after an extortion scheme gone wrong, the team learns he was involved with a website dedicated to infidelity. As the case develops, Kirsten discovers that the hacker was actually set up by someone with an extreme thirst for revenge. But when the killer turns their attention to the team’s personal lives, the Stitchers find themselves in grave danger at every turn. Meanwhile, Cameron’s recent brush with death gives him a new perspective on life, and Linus finally moves out of his parents’ house and into a fully equipped smart house."

Camille wants Detective Fisher to teach her how to hit things in this promo for Stitchers episode 2x02 “Hack Me If You Can”.

Detective Fisher isn’t taking it easy after getting shot. Instead of lying on the couch eating potato chips, he’s working up a sweat by boxing.

Camille wants to know how to protect herself. Detective Fisher got shot and Leslie Turner is dead. Things have been getting pretty dangerous for the Stitchers team.

Cassidy Freeman & John Billingsley Join ‘Stitchers’ Cast for Season 2

Cassidy Freeman and John Billingsley have joined Stitchers in recurring roles.  Both Cassidy and John will first appear in the second episode of season 2.  Their characters will cause problems for the Stitchers team.

Cassidy Freeman, best known for her role as Tess Mercer on Smallville and Cady Longmire on Longmire, will play the role of Ellie.  Ellie is “a hacker who uses her ‘impressive skills’ to taunt the Stitchers team”, according to TVLine.

John Billingsley, who played on Mike Spencer on True Blood and Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise, will join the cast as Mitchell Blair.  Mitchell Blair is a “NSA executive who arrives on the scene as part of an ‘abrupt change’ to the Stitchers’ organization.”  Mitchell Blair will use “folksy, disarming charm” to hide his “ice-cold intent and deadly ideas”.  Looks like he is going to stir up trouble for the Stitchers team.
