'Stitchers' Star Allison Scagliotti Lands 'The Vampire Diaries' Role as Georgie

Actress Allison Scagliotti, who plays Camille on Stitchers, has just landed a recurring role on The Vampire Diaries. The Vampire Diaries will start its eighth season in the fall.

Allison Scagliotti will make her first appearance in the season eight premiere, according to EW. Allison will play the role of Georgie. Georgie is “a research intern who is motivated by a terrible darkness from her past.” Georgie “channels existential anxieties into a new field of study that will force her to confront her deepest fears.”

Allison’s already seen one The Vampires Diary script. Allison tweeted “Gosh, thanks for the love everybody. I promise not to steer your ships off course. (I don't actually know, I've only seen one script)”.

So does this mean anything in terms of a third season of Stitchers? Freeform still hasn’t made a decision on renewing Stitchers for a third season and, of course, Allison Scagliotti is an integral part of the show. Allison responded to fan concern by tweeting “Don't wig out about @StitchersTV. At this point you know as much as we know.”

So Allison’s recurring role on The Vampire Diaries doesn’t mean that Stitchers is cancelled. Everyone, cast included, is just waiting for Freeform to make a decision.

The season 8 premiere of The Vampire Diaries will air on Friday, October 21 at 8/7c on The CW, so make sure to tune in and watch Allison Scagliotti as Georgie!
